Swimming

West Hills takes great pride in our swim program. Our seven heated pools differ in size and depth to accommodate the various age and skill levels of our campers.

All groups swim twice a day--once before and once after lunch. Sessions include instructional and recreational swimming. Instruction is given by our exceptional swim staff, all of whom are certified Water Safety Instructors (WSIs) and Life Guards (LGs). American Red Cross swimming courses allow campers to achieve recognition for various levels of swimming proficiency.

West Hills Day Camp Swim Team is an additional element that inspires campers to engage in healthy competition. They have the opportunity to show off their swimming skills during meets with other day camps. It is an exciting time when they work together in relays or can display their swim crawl with precision.

Slides

While the development of proficient swimmers is the main goal of our aquatics program, we keep our campers wonderfully wet and bubbling with excitement.

Each day campers can "swish" and "swosh" down any of our water slides, including Jeremiah the Frog, Quackers the Duck and that fabulous tubular twister, Big Blue!

Fishing and Boating

One of the favorite spots at West Hills is the pond. Campers come every week to test their skill (and luck!) at catching their very own fish. For those who wish to "ship out," there are row boats and paddle boats available for their nautical delight.

The Fishing & Boating staff make sure everyone has a whale of a time. Together with the camper's own counselors, they provide a fantastic program which is closely supervised and always safe.
