  • The information on this website will give you only a glimpse of what you might expect to find when you visit us at West Hills. Once you see our facility and speak with one of our teacher representatives, we are confident that you will choose West Hills Day Camp for your child's summer growth and excitement
    West Hills is open every weekday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please call our office to schedule a personal tour of the grounds and to see a sample of your child's daily activities. We think that you will be very pleased to see that our varied and exciting activities meet the needs of your child from the age of 3 years through 10th grade.

    Why West Hills Is So Unique

    • We are a long-standing member of the American Camp Association (ACA) and the Long Island Camp and Private Schools Association (LICAPS), ensuring you of the highest standards in camping.
    • We are located on 18 magnificent acres, secured for your child’s complete protection.
    • We have a highly qualified professional staff to care for and supervise your child; Certified Teachers, College Graduates & Students and two Registered Nurses.
    • We provide you with informative reports, keeping you abreast of your child’s progress.

    Swim:

    • We have a Full Red-Cross Swimming Program for ALL children.
    • We have 7 filtered and heated pools; and a giant flume pool slide.
    • We provide you with periodic Swim Progress Reports.

    Activities vary from physically active to pleasantly passive:

    • We have an extensive Challenge Course with Climbing Wall and breathtaking Zip Lines.
    • We have a dynamic Arts & Crafts Complex including special programs in ceramics, woodworking and free-style drawing.
    • We have a comprehensive athletic program, teaching basic skills in such areas as tennis, karate, wrestling, basketball, soccer, baseball and archery.
    • We have a large beautiful pond for fishing, rowing and paddle boating.

    Programs:

    • We have a separate Pre-School facility with scaled-down areas designed specifically for your child.
    • Mini-Week and Mini-Day for Nursery children (ages 3 & 4).
    • Literacy Component – Ready-made fun with “The Happy Bookworm” (ages 3-7).
    • Pre-Teen Program (6th – 7th graders).
    • Jr. Travel Program (6th – 7th graders) – including overnight trips, both in and out of state.
    • Teen Tour Program – including overnight trips, both in and out of state.
